Famous Four Media team celebrates reaching an historic milestone

Famous Four Media is delighted to announce that they have reached an extraordinary milestone. Since their launch in 2014, the Company has sold over 3,000,000 domain names, with unprecedented growth seen across all of their gTLD’s. In this short space of time, one of the flagship TLD’s, .WIN, is already close to hitting the 1 million domain mark, showing no signs of a decline in a highly competitive market.

This week sees the much anticipated launch of FFM’s newest gTLD, .STREAM, which is expected to generate a very high number of registrations from its release. This is just one of the plans currently in the pipeline for continued expansion. FFM fully expects to maintain the current level of growth enjoyed so far, well into and beyond 2016.

Of its current success, FFM’S Chief Revenue Officer, Christopher Cousins, said, “I am thrilled that our registry business has achieved 3 million domain name sales in such a short space of time. 2016 has already proven to be an exceptional year for us, and with many upcoming developments currently in the planning phase across our registries and the wider business, it is a truly exciting time to …read more

The domain name extension .Party has been losing thousands of domain name registrations a day over the last few weeks. The new gTLD domain extension .party launched in February 2015. However in May 2015, after just 5,600 domain names had been registered, Alpnames.com offered free .party domain name registrations, then offered deeply discounted .$49 registrations, […]

DealHunt.com was the top closing auction on Wednesday, my favorite pick from yesterday’s list closed at $3,550.

Snapbacks.com seems to be getting a lot of interest today, the 19 year old domain is already over $3,000.

BestRugs.com seems like a decent play today, currently only two bids.

XMRD.com is an expired 4L.com, the 13 year old domain is currently around $1,670.

Konstantinos at OnlineDomain has had some good info in his recent articles about Sedo lately. His data isn’t wrong, where he and I differ is what it means. Undoubtedly they haven’t been aggressive in their push to acquire new sellers and buyers. But they know their profit and loss numbers better than anyone and I can guarantee you they aren’t ignoring them. They are a business. They have to answer to investors. And Joseph Peterson made a few other good points. They are and continue to be another opportunity to buy and sell domains. We should all want that. We need that. Yes they could do better but they had a great first quarter. Sure all Chinese but does it really matter why. They had some great auctions and sales. Plain and simple, there are more choices for people to buy and sell domains. From BrandBucket to Flippa, there are a lot of new players in the last 5 years that are dividing the pie. And as a domain investor I am glad. I want more choices. I want more …read more

The Brandosphere – A look at Sedo sales and Michael Krell’s latest registrations">The Brandosphere – A look at Sedo sales and Michael Krell’s latest registrations

June 30th, 2016 by Patricia - DomainBELL

By Raymond Hackney

Today we are looking at the brandable sales that took place on Sedo this past week.

VeCom.com was sold for 6,800 Euros, registered in 1997, this domain has been around the world. It was owned by a Brazilian company for many years, they were called VeCom Net and operated on the .com.br. Then a few years back the domain went to South Korea, and that registrant looks to be the seller of the domain. The new registrant is Chinese. The com.com can be tricky depending on the pronunciation.

DryTown.com registered since 1999. The registrant looked to have owned it for many years, under a corporate name, then his own name, then privacy and then back to his own name. The domain sold for 5,000 Euros. Still under Sedo whois, will be interesting to see who becomes the new mayor of Dry Town.

Gcup.com was owned by NTK computer out of Taiwan back in 2000. Interestingly DomainTools.com does not show a drop but it looks like it must have as they have a creation date showing of 2002, the whois history begs to differ. A domainer out of Ireland sold the domain for $2,500 (seems on the low side). Sedo whois currently, will the …read more

Today: Anyone else been seeing a huge increase in ad rev? / AYO.com STOLEN / Are misspelled words still valuable? / And more.

Here are the new discussions and domain name news that caught my eye today:

PraiseGod.co.uk – What kind of value does a religious domain like this one have?

Domain name source with “Starting with” ? – Anyone know where to find a reliable tool that has such an option?

Clicker.info sold – Nice to see that .info’s are still selling and in demand.

Are misspelled words still valuable? – I remember when typos were a big deal, but ever since search algorithms started auto-correcting I think the value dropped in these. What are your thoughts?

AYO.com STOLEN – It saddens me every time I see a report about another stolen domains.

Anyone else been seeing a huge increase in ad rev? – It’s always interesting to crunch the numbers when revenue streams spike to figure out why and optimize it better. Care to contribute to this topic?
